Marko Schiemann

Marko Schiemann is a German politician and the longest-serving member of the Landtag of Saxony, having held his seat since 1990. A member of the Christian Democratic Union (CDU), he has played a significant role in state constitutional and legal affairs, including serving as a key negotiator during the drafting of the Constitution of the Free State of Saxony. Before entering politics, he worked as a surveyor and engineer in Germany, Russia, and Mongolia. Schiemann is a Sorbian Catholic and remains active in various cultural and parliamentary advisory roles, including the Foundation for the Sorbian People.
