Markus Herrera Torrez is a German politician and the Lord Mayor of Wertheim. Born in Zwenkau in 1988, he studied history and political science at the University of Mannheim. Before his election as mayor in 2019, he served on the Lauffen am Neckar municipal council and held leadership roles within the Jusos Baden-Württemberg and the SPD. As mayor, he is noted for his role in the successful rescue and reopening of the Wertheim hospital, an initiative that earned the city recognition as an innovation hub in 2025. He also serves as a member of the Main-Tauber-Kreis district council.
