Marlin Schmidt

Marlin Schmidt is a Canadian politician serving as a member of the Legislative Assembly of Alberta for the district of Edmonton-Gold Bar. First elected in 2015, he previously served as the Minister of Advanced Education under the government of Rachel Notley. Before entering provincial politics, Schmidt worked for over a decade as a specialist in site remediation, including roles with Alberta Environment focusing on soil and groundwater contamination. He holds a master's degree in applied environmental geosciences from the University of Tübingen and a bachelor's degree from Queen's University.
