Heather Sweet is a Canadian politician serving as a Member of the Legislative Assembly of Alberta for the constituency of Edmonton-Manning. First elected in the 2015 provincial election and subsequently re-elected in 2019 and 2023, she represents the New Democratic Party. In her legislative capacity, she serves as the Official Opposition critic for Agriculture and Forestry, as well as for Rural Economic Development, and holds the position of Deputy Whip of the Official Opposition. Prior to her political career, Sweet worked for over a decade as a registered social worker, specializing in child protection services and high-risk youth.
