Martha Osamor, Baroness Osamor, is a British-Nigerian politician, life peer, and civil rights activist. Born in Nigeria, she moved to the United Kingdom in 1963 and became a prominent community organizer in Tottenham, co-founding the United Black Women's Action Group. She served as a Labour councillor for the Bruce Grove Ward in the London Borough of Haringey from 1986 to 1990, eventually becoming deputy leader of the council. A dedicated left-wing campaigner, she was appointed to the House of Lords in 2018. She is the mother of Member of Parliament Kate Osamor.
