Martha Peralta Epieyú

Martha Peralta Epieyú is a Colombian lawyer, environmental law specialist, and indigenous leader of the Wayuu people. She currently serves as a Senator of Colombia, having been elected in 2022 as part of the Historical Pact for Colombia coalition. A prominent figure within the Alternative Indigenous and Social Movement (MAIS), she previously served as the party's national director and worked as a legal advisor for the National Indigenous Organization of Colombia (ONIC). Her career is defined by her advocacy for indigenous rights and environmental policy.
