Martin Mrkos

Martin Mrkos is a Czech politician and economist who has served as the Mayor of Žďár nad Sázavou since 2018. A member of the Mayors and Independents (STAN) movement, he previously served as a representative of the Vysočina Region from 2016 to 2024. Throughout his career, he has focused on municipal development and local governance, earning recognition as the best mayor in the Vysočina Region for the 2018–2022 term. He has been a consistent advocate for local civic engagement and regional cooperation.
