Before entering state politics, he pursued a legal career, serving as a public prosecutor in Aschaffenburg from 2008 to 2010 and as a judge at the district court of Obernburg am Main and the regional court of Aschaffenburg. Between 2018 and 2023, he held the position of First Mayor of the municipality of Sulzbach am Main. He is a member of the Christian Social Union (CSU) and is married with three children.
