Mary Cavanagh

Mary Cavanagh is an American politician currently serving as a member of the Michigan Senate for the 6th district, having assumed office on January 1, 2023. Prior to her election to the Senate, she served in the Michigan House of Representatives representing the 10th district from 2021 to 2022. A graduate of Wayne State University with a degree in physical anthropology, Cavanagh previously worked as an AmeriCorps member and as a director for the New Start Construction Company. She is the granddaughter of former Detroit mayor Jerome Cavanagh.
