Masaaki Mori is a Japanese politician and former professional football player currently serving as a member of the Kanagawa Prefectural Assembly. Born in Nagasaki Prefecture, he played for Fujita Kogyo (later Shonan Bellmare) and represented the Japan national football team, including appearances in the 1990 FIFA World Cup Asian qualifiers. After retiring from sports, he entered politics and was first elected to the Kanagawa Prefectural Assembly in 1999. He has served seven terms, including a tenure as the Chairman of the Kanagawa Prefectural Assembly, and focuses on regional revitalization, sports promotion, and community development.
