Masakazu Hamachi is a Japanese politician and lawyer currently serving his sixth term as a member of the House of Representatives. A graduate of Waseda University, he previously worked in the securities and real estate industries before passing the bar exam. Throughout his political career, he has held significant positions including Parliamentary Vice-Minister for Foreign Affairs and State Minister of Health, Labour and Welfare. Hamachi is known for his support of selective separate surname systems for married couples, the legalization of same-sex marriage, and the regulation of hate speech.
