Masayo Matsushita is a Japanese politician currently serving as the Mayor of Asaka in Saitama Prefecture. Born in Nagoya, she began her career in the private sector, working for Yasuda Fire and Marine Insurance and later for a petroleum company. She entered local politics in 2011, serving two terms on the Asaka City Council and one term as a member of the Saitama Prefectural Assembly. In 2025, she was elected Mayor of Asaka after receiving the endorsement of her predecessor, Katsunori Tomioka. Matsushita holds a degree from Aichi Prefectural University and completed studies at the Meiji University Graduate School of Governance.
