Matej Arčon is a Slovenian politician currently serving as a member of the National Assembly of Slovenia. Born in 1972, he has an extensive background in local government, having served as a member of the Nova Gorica city council and as the mayor of Nova Gorica from 2010 to 2018. He also represented local interests in the National Council of Slovenia between 2007 and 2012. In 2022, he became the General Secretary of the Freedom Movement party and was subsequently elected to the National Assembly, where he received significant electoral support.
