Matthew David Klein is an American politician and physician currently serving as a member of the Minnesota Senate, representing District 53. A member of the Minnesota Democratic–Farmer–Labor Party, he was first elected to the state senate in 2016. Klein is a doctor of internal medicine at the Mayo Clinic and previously served on the West St. Paul–Mendota Heights–Eagan School Board. In 2025, he announced his candidacy for Minnesota's 2nd congressional district in the U.S. House of Representatives.
