Matt Strauss is a Canadian physician and politician serving as the Member of Parliament for Kitchener South—Hespeler since 2025, becoming the first Conservative to represent the district. A medical doctor specializing in internal and critical care medicine, he previously served as the acting medical officer of health for Haldimand and Norfolk counties from 2021 to 2023. Throughout his career, Strauss has been a vocal critic of pandemic-era public health mandates, including lockdowns and vaccine requirements. He has also held academic positions at the Michael G. DeGroote School of Medicine and Queen's University, and served as chief of the ICU at Guelph General Hospital.
