Melanie Scheible

Melanie Scheible is an American politician and attorney currently serving as a member of the Nevada Senate. Representing the 9th district since 2018, she covers southwestern suburbs of Las Vegas, including Enterprise, Summerlin South, and Spring Valley. Scheible earned a Bachelor of Arts in public policy from Stanford University and a Juris Doctor from Columbia Law School. In addition to her legislative duties, she maintains a career as a deputy district attorney in Clark County. She is noted for being one of the openly LGBT members of the Nevada Legislature.
