A member of the Polish People's Party (PSL), he previously served as the Deputy Minister of Climate and Environment from 2023 to 2025. Motyka has a background in environmental engineering and has been active in youth politics, notably leading the Forum of Young People's Party (Forum Młodych Ludowców) from 2017 to 2023. He has also served as a member of the Lesser Poland Voivodeship Assembly.
