Borys Budka is a Polish politician and legal scholar currently serving as a Member of the European Parliament. A long-time member of the Civic Platform party, he has held several high-profile positions, including Minister of Justice in 2015, Minister of State Assets from 2023 to 2024, and chairman of the Civic Platform party from 2020 to 2021. Budka previously served as a member of the Sejm for multiple terms and as a local councilor in Zabrze and Gliwice. He holds a PhD in economics and has worked as an academic teacher and legal counsel. In the European Parliament, he chairs the Committee on Industry, Research and Energy.
