Michael Burton

Michael Burton is an American politician and former theatre performer currently serving as a member of the Missouri House of Representatives for the 92nd district. Born in Affton, Missouri, he attended Christian Brothers College High School and briefly studied at Lindenwood University before moving to New York City to pursue a career on Broadway. He originated the role of Ben Rogers in the 2001 Broadway production of The Adventures of Tom Sawyer. After returning to Missouri in 2011, he worked as a teacher and became involved in local activism, notably campaigning against a housing development on the site of a historic golf course. He was elected to the state legislature in 2020 and assumed office in January 2021.
