Michael Efler is a German politician and member of the Abgeordnetenhaus of Berlin. After completing vocational training as an administrative clerk, he studied economics and social economics at the Hamburg University of Economics and Politics, later earning a doctorate from the University of Hamburg. Efler has been a long-time advocate for direct democracy, notably serving as a federal board spokesperson for the organization Mehr Demokratie. Politically, he was a member of the Green Party before joining The Left in 2005. He has focused his parliamentary work on climate protection, urban development, and animal welfare.
