Ates Gürpinar

Ates Gürpinar is a German politician serving as a member of the Bundestag since 2021. A member of The Left, he has held significant leadership roles within the party, including serving as a federal deputy leader since 2021 and as co-chairman of the party's Bavarian branch since 2016. Gürpinar, who holds degrees in media science and the ethics of text cultures, has also worked as an educator in media studies and economics. His political engagement was largely motivated by his opposition to the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq, as well as his participation in international student protests. He continues to advocate for social justice and party reform within the German political landscape.
