Thomas Michael Jopling, Baron Jopling, is a British politician and life peer who currently sits in the House of Lords. Before his elevation to the peerage in 1997, he served as a Conservative Member of Parliament for over 32 years, representing Westmorland and later Westmorland and Lonsdale. During his tenure in the House of Commons, he held several significant government positions, most notably serving as the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food from 1983 to 1987 and as Parliamentary Secretary to the Treasury. A former farmer and member of the National Farmers Union, he remains an active figure in British political life as a member of the Privy Council.
