Miguel Ángel Calisto

Miguel Ángel Calisto is a Chilean politician and journalist serving as a Senator for the Aysén Region. Born in Coyhaique in 1985, he studied journalism at the Austral University of Chile and earned a master's degree in financial management from the University of Barcelona. He began his political career as a student leader and member of the Christian Democratic Party, later serving as a regional councillor and president of the Aysén Regional Council. Elected to the Chamber of Deputies in 2017 and re-elected in 2021, he subsequently left the Christian Democratic Party, joined the Demócratas party, and was elected to the Senate of Chile in the 2025 parliamentary elections.
