Mike Burns

James Mikell "Mike" Burns is an American politician serving as a member of the South Carolina House of Representatives for the 17th District since 2013. A member of the Republican Party and the South Carolina Freedom Caucus, Burns has been involved in several controversial legislative initiatives, including sponsoring the South Carolina Prenatal Equal Protection Act of 2023 and proposing legislation to restrict the "Certified SC Grown" designation for foods containing mRNA. Throughout his tenure, he has served on various committees, including the House Agriculture, Natural Resources & Environmental Affairs Committee.
