Mike Rounds

Mike Rounds is an American politician and businessman currently serving as the junior United States Senator from South Dakota, a position he has held since 2015. Prior to his federal service, he served as the 31st Governor of South Dakota from 2003 to 2011 and was a member of the South Dakota Senate from 1991 to 2001. A member of the Republican Party, Rounds has focused his legislative career on issues including artificial intelligence regulation, agricultural policy, and fiscal conservatism. He is known for his advocacy for research and development in state-supported universities and his opposition to the Affordable Care Act.
