Mike Thompson

Mike Thompson is an American politician serving as a member of the Mississippi State Senate for the 48th district since 2020. Born in Metairie, Louisiana, he attended Saint Stanislaus in Mississippi and earned a Juris Doctor from Loyola University New Orleans College of Law. Before entering politics, Thompson worked as a tugboat captain in the Gulf of Mexico and later practiced law at a regional defense firm. In the Senate, he chairs the Investigate State Offices committee and has participated in votes regarding significant state legislation, including the 2020 resolution to change the Mississippi state flag.
