Milan Stamatović is a Serbian politician who has served as the President of the Municipality of Čajetina since 2004. A long-time local leader, he previously held membership in the Democratic Movement of Serbia and the Democratic Party of Serbia before co-founding the Serbian People's Party and eventually establishing the Healthy Serbia party in 2017. Stamatović gained national attention as an independent candidate in the 2017 Serbian presidential election and is known for his vocal advocacy of fiscal decentralization, his opposition to illegal construction in Zlatibor, and his critical stance on European Union integration. Throughout his tenure, he has focused on regional economic development, including the successful promotion of local tourism and the construction of the Zlatibor gondola lift.
