Minnie Gonzalez

Minnie Gonzalez is an American politician serving as a member of the Connecticut House of Representatives for the 3rd district since 1997. Born in Adjuntas, Puerto Rico, she moved to Hartford, Connecticut, in 1981, where she previously worked as a special deputy sheriff and an Assistant Registrar of Voters. Throughout her legislative career, she has held leadership roles including Deputy Majority Leader and Deputy Speaker. Gonzalez is a vocal advocate for family court reform, housing equity, and economic policies such as increasing the minimum wage. She also serves as the president of Connecticut's Puerto Rican and Latino Caucus.
