Miroslav Ševčík is a Czech politician, economist, and university educator currently serving as a Member of the Chamber of Deputies since October 2025 as an independent candidate for the Freedom and Direct Democracy (SPD) party. He is also a long-time academic, having served twice as the dean of the Faculty of Economics at the University of Economics in Prague between 2010 and 2018, and again from 2022 until his dismissal in late 2023. Throughout his career, he has been a prominent advocate for free-market economics and conservative principles, while also attracting public controversy regarding his political activities and academic leadership.
