Masaru Miyazaki

Masaru Miyazaki is a Japanese politician serving as a member of the House of Councillors for the Komeito party. After graduating from Saitama University, he worked as a journalist for the Komei Shimbun, the official newspaper of Komeito. He was first elected to the House of Councillors in 2016 and secured a second term in 2022 following a vacancy. In August 2025, he was appointed as the Chairman of the Committee on Foreign Affairs and Defense. Politically, he supports constitutional amendment but opposes revising Article 9 and the creation of emergency clauses. He has expressed support for the Trans-Pacific Partnership and the relocation of the Futenma base to Henoko, while advocating for the eventual phase-out of nuclear power.
