Mohamad Al Ississ is a Jordanian politician and economist currently serving as the Minister of Finance of Jordan. Appointed to the position in November 2019, he previously held cabinet roles as the Minister of Planning and International Cooperation and Minister of State for Economic Affairs. Before his ministerial career, he served as a Special Advisor and Economic Advisor to King Abdullah II at the Royal Hashemite Court. Dr. Al Ississ holds a PhD in Public Policy from Harvard University and has an extensive background in academia, having served as an associate dean and professor at the American University in Cairo and as a visiting lecturer at the Harvard Kennedy School. His research and policy work focus on the political economy of the Arab world, behavioral economics, and fiscal development.
