Mohammad Abu Sufian

Mohammad Abu Sufian is a Bangladeshi politician and member of the Jatiya Sangsad representing the Chittagong-9 constituency, having been elected in February 2026. A long-time member of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP), he began his political career with its student wing, the Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal, during his studies at Chittagong College in the 1980s. Over the decades, he has held various local party leadership positions, including serving as senior vice president of the BNP's Chittagong city unit, and contested parliamentary seats in previous election cycles before winning his current mandate in 2026 with a platform focused on resolving waterlogging, improving civic services, and maintaining law and order.
