Profile

Monica Iagăr is a Romanian politician and former professional high jumper. A decorated athlete, she won gold medals at the 1998 European Indoor and Outdoor Championships and competed in the 2000 and 2004 Summer Olympics. Following her athletic career, she served as president of the CS Dinamo București sports club. In 2024, she entered politics and was elected to the Chamber of Deputies representing Satu Mare County for the Alliance for the Union of Romanians.
