Monika Schwind

Monika Schwind is a German local politician who has served as the Lord Mayor of the city of Freising since May 2026. Born in 1974, she began her professional career as a bank clerk before working as an auditor at Bankhaus Ludwig Sperrer for over two decades. She entered local politics in 2011 as a member of the Freisinger Mitte, a local voters' association. Prior to her election as mayor, she served on the Freising city council starting in 2014 and acted as the municipal officer for finance and real estate from 2020. She secured her current position after winning the 2026 mayoral runoff election with 60.8% of the vote.
