Dietmar Woidke is a German politician who has served as the Minister-President of Brandenburg since 2013, making him the longest-serving incumbent head of government among the German states. A member of the Social Democratic Party (SPD), he previously held roles as the Minister of Rural Development, Environment and Consumer Protection and as the Minister of the Interior for Brandenburg. Woidke holds a doctorate in agricultural science and began his political career in the Brandenburg state parliament in 1994. Throughout his tenure, he has focused on administrative modernization, police reform, and regional cooperation, notably serving as President of the Bundesrat from 2019 to 2020.
