Morten Messerschmidt

Morten Messerschmidt is a Danish politician who has served as the leader of the Danish People's Party since 2022. He has held a seat in the Folketing, the Danish parliament, during multiple terms, including his current tenure which began in 2019. Previously, he served as a Member of the European Parliament from 2009 to 2019, where he was a prominent figure in the counter-jihad movement. Under his leadership, the Danish People's Party has shifted toward more economically liberal policies while maintaining a strong right-wing stance on social issues, including opposition to identity politics and advocacy for restrictive immigration policies.
