Mugur Mihăescu

Mugur Mihăescu is a Romanian politician, actor, and screenwriter who currently serves as a member of the Chamber of Deputies, representing Olt County since December 2024. He first gained national prominence in 1988 as a member of the comedy group Vacanța Mare, later starring in popular films such as 'Garcea și oltenii'. Before his parliamentary career, he was active in the business sector, owning various hospitality establishments in Bucharest. Mihăescu briefly served as the executive president of the Green Party in 2011 and has been a notable, albeit controversial, figure in Romanian public life, including investigations by the National Council for the Study of Security Archives regarding his activities during the communist era.
