Muhterem Aras is a German politician and a member of the Landtag of Baden-Württemberg. Born in Turkey, she moved to Germany as a child and later established a career as a tax consultant. Entering politics in 1993, she served on the Stuttgart City Council before being elected to the state parliament in 2011. From 2016 to 2026, she served as the President of the Landtag, becoming the first woman and the first member of the Green Party to hold this position in the state. She currently serves as the Vice President of the Landtag.
