Nahid Islam

Nahid Islam is a Bangladeshi politician, student activist, and member of Parliament representing the Dhaka-11 constituency who also serves as the 13th Opposition Chief Whip of the Jatiya Sangsad. He rose to national prominence as a central coordinator of the Students Against Discrimination movement, which spearheaded the July Uprising leading to the resignation of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina in 2024. Following the uprising, he served as an adviser to the interim government led by Muhammad Yunus before resigning to co-found and lead the National Citizen Party.
