She previously represented the 57th district in the same chamber from 2011 to 2017 and served on the Lenawee County commission. Jenkins holds a bachelor's degree from Evangel University and a master's degree from the University of Toledo. Before her legislative career, she worked as a title representative and as a staffer for state senator Cameron S. Brown, and she has also served as the director of development for Hudson Area Schools.
