A prominent leader of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) from an Other Backward Class (OBC) background, he previously served as a Member of Parliament for Kurukshetra and as a member of the Haryana Legislative Assembly. Since assuming the office of Chief Minister in 2024, he has focused on developmental initiatives, including the expansion of Gram Panchayat expenditure limits, electricity tariff reforms, and the implementation of affordable housing schemes for urban and rural poor.
