Nicholas Reece is an Australian politician and policy activist who has served as the 105th Lord Mayor of Melbourne since 2024. A long-time member of the Australian Labor Party, he previously held significant roles as a ministerial staffer, including Director of Strategy for Prime Minister Julia Gillard and senior adviser to Victorian Premiers John Brumby and Steve Bracks. Beyond his political career, Reece is a senior executive at the University of Melbourne, a political commentator, and a founding director of the Movember Foundation. He was first elected to the Melbourne City Council in 2016 and served as Deputy Lord Mayor before assuming his current office.
