Nicole Chavez

Nicole Chavez is an American politician serving as a member of the New Mexico House of Representatives for the 31st district. Elected in 2024, she is the first Hispanic woman to hold this seat. Prior to her political career, Chavez worked in the health care sector, holding leadership roles in managed care operations, product development, and sales strategy. Her entry into politics was motivated by her experience as a victims' advocate following the death of her teenage son in 2015. In the legislature, she focuses on public safety, taxation, and victims' rights, having sponsored and co-sponsored various bills related to criminal justice reform and medical malpractice.
