Niklas Waßmann

Niklas Waßmann is a German politician and member of the Christian Democratic Union (CDU). Born in 1985 in Eschwege, he holds a degree in philosophy and economics from the University of Bayreuth. Before entering state politics, he worked as a department head for vocational training at the Erfurt Chamber of Crafts. Waßmann has served as a member of the Erfurt City Council since 2019 and was elected to the Landtag of Thuringia in 2024, winning the direct mandate for the Erfurt II constituency. In December 2024, he was appointed General Secretary of the CDU Thuringia.
