Michael Meister

Michael Günther Meister is a German mathematician and politician who has served as a member of the Bundestag representing Hesse since 1994. A long-standing member of the Christian Democratic Union (CDU), he has held significant government roles, including Parliamentary State Secretary at the Federal Ministry of Finance from 2013 to 2018 and at the Federal Ministry of Education and Research from 2018 to 2021. Since 2025, he has served as Minister of State for Federal-State Relations. Throughout his career, Meister has been deeply involved in economic policy and financial budget negotiations, while maintaining a conservative political stance on social issues.
