He serves as a Member of the Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly, representing the Palakonda Assembly constituency following his victory in the 2024 state assembly elections. The son of late four-time MLA Nimmaka Gopala Rao, he previously contested the 2014 and 2019 elections before winning the seat in 2024 as part of a pre-poll alliance.
