Nizar Baraka

Nizar Baraka is a Moroccan politician and businessman who has served as the Minister of Equipment and Water since October 2021. He holds a PhD in econometrics from Aix-Marseille University and previously served as Minister of Economy and Finance, as well as President of the Economic, Social and Environmental Council. An economist and academic by background, he has led the Istiqlal Party as its secretary-general since 2017.
