Nora Mohammad Al-Mashaan

Nora Mohammad Al-Mashaan is a Kuwaiti civil engineer, academic, and government official currently serving as the Minister of Public Works of Kuwait. Born in 1981, she holds a PhD in coastal disaster engineering and oil spill management from Johns Hopkins University, making her the first Arab woman to earn a doctorate in this specialized field. Before her cabinet appointment in 2024, she worked as an associate professor at Kuwait University and as an engineering consultant. As a minister, she has focused on major infrastructure projects, including the overhaul of the national road network and the development of the Mubarak Al-Kabeer Port.
