Norman Lamont is a British politician and life peer who currently serves as a Member of the House of Lords. He previously served as the Member of Parliament for Kingston-upon-Thames from 1972 to 1997 and held several high-ranking government positions, most notably as Chancellor of the Exchequer from 1990 to 1993 under Prime Minister John Major. A long-standing Eurosceptic, he was a prominent supporter of the Leave Means Leave campaign. Before his political career, he worked in the financial sector for N M Rothschild & Sons.
