Olga Gauks is a German politician and member of the Christian Democratic Union (CDU). Born in Alma-Ata, Kazakhstan, she moved to the Harz region in Germany at the age of twelve. Before entering politics, she worked as a German language teacher. Gauks holds a bachelor's degree in philology from the Ablay Khan Kazakh University of International Relations and World Languages and a degree in law from the Almaty Management University. In 2023, she was elected to the Abgeordnetenhaus of Berlin, representing the Marzahn-Hellersdorf 2 constituency, becoming the first Russian-German member of the Berlin state parliament.
